Educational Programs
From the very beginning, the philosophy of IBB Minsk was based on the idea of a joint reflection on the war of 1941-1944 and on the desire for reconciliation. In addition, owing to the difficult processes of transformation in the Republic of Belarus and the long-term consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, IBB educational work has been focusing also on the organization of political and economic dialogue between Belarus and Europe, as well as the internal dialogue between different social groups in Belarus. At the same time, on the background of progressing globalization processes, which are inevitably covering Belarus, it is important to develop and support the prospects for Belarus in terms of its place in a common house of Europe.
Strategic planning of IBB´s educational activities is a task of the board of founders.
Today IBB in its educational activities places the emphasis on the following topics:
• Understanding and reconciliation
• Belarus and Europe
• Media
• Church and Society
• People and the environment
• Organization of educational tours for the groups from Germany and other countries.
The most important target groups for these issues are the witnesses of World War II, youth, politicians, journalists, experts, as well as active citizens participating in joint projects.
The philosophy and the basic ideas of Johannes Rau center, described above, are reflected in educational programs that the Minsk IBB plans and implements together with the International Educational Association for Education and Exchange Dortmund.
More information on the educational activities of the IBB Minsk you can find in the sections of our site and in our brochure with offers of educational activities and programs for 2010.
