Journalists’ club

The club meetings gather journalists from public, state and private, electronic and print media (such as: ONT, Belteleradio, Vechernij Minsk, Belorusy i rynok, radio «Belarus», Zvyazda, Svobodnye novosti, Zheleznodorozhnik Belarusi, Deutsche Welle, Svobodnyj Korrespondent, Obozrevatel, 7 Dnej, Respublika, Radio Unistar, KP in Belarus, Vo slavu Rodiny, BAJ, Minskii Kurier, etc.). At meetings of the club, which are held every two months, participants are offered reports of Belarusian and foreign speakers on political, economic and social issues. Afterwards, the opinions and ideas mentioned in the reports are discussed by the journalists.
Members of the club shall undertake to meet the standards of correct and independent reporting set forth in the Declaration of professional ethics of the members of the Journalists’ Club of the Johannes Rau International Centre for Education and Exchange.
Since 2008 regular round tables for Belarusian journalists take place. The aim of these discussions is to give media representatives an opportunity to meet and exchange experiences and information on relevant journalistic and current topics. All the journalists are welcome to make a short report, which will become a stimulus for discussion.
In addition, the Journalists’ Club of IBB Minsk and round tables inform journalists about the planned activities of IBB.
